HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AMENDMENTS TO H.B. 2437

(Reference to printed bill)

 

1   Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:

2                 "Section 1. Section 14-5108, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to

3           read:

4                 14-5108. Guardianship of foreign citizens

5                 The court may appoint an adult as the guardian of a foreign citizen if

6           all of the following are true:

7                 1. The foreign citizen is under twenty-one years of age.

8                 2. The foreign citizen has a temporary visa issued by the United

9           States OR IS A LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT.

10                3. The adult agrees to sponsor the foreign citizen in obtaining

11          permanent resident alien status in the United States.

12                4. The foreign citizen’s parent, on behalf of the foreign citizen,

13          filed a petition for permanent resident alien status with the United States

14          government and that parent is now deceased.

15                5. The foreign citizen was under eighteen years of age at the time the

16          petition for permanent resident alien status was filed.”

17   Amend title to conform

and, as so amended, it do pass
