SENATE AMENDMENTS TO S.C.R. 1012

Strike everything after the resolving clause and insert:
"1. Article V, section 4, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:
4. Governor; powers and duties; special sessions of legislature; message and recommendations
Section 4. A. The governor shall transact all executive business with the officers of the government, civil and military, and may require information in writing from the officers in the executive department upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices. He shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed. He may convene the legislature in extraordinary session. He shall communicate, by message, to the legislature at every session the condition of the state, and recommend such matters as he shall deem expedient.
B. On request from the legislature, the governor shall appear once every two weeks on the floor of the legislature to receive and respond to questions from the members of the legislature during the regular legislative session. The governor shall alternate chambers, appearing on the senate floor to receive questions from members of the senate, then appearing two weeks later on the House of representatives floor to receive questions from the members of the house of representatives. Each appearance shall be for a minimum of thirty minutes and a maximum of one hour, and the majority and minority party of that chamber of the legislature each shall receive one-half of the question time.
2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona."
